Portfol.io (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Portfol.io platform, which enables creators to host live educational classes and students to enroll in them. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal data.

Account information
Account creation and authentication are handled by Clerk. When you sign up, Clerk collects your name, email address, and password (or OAuth tokens if you use a social login). We receive a unique user identifier and basic profile data from Clerk to power your account.
Payment information
All payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number, CVV, or other raw payment credentials on our servers. Stripe provides us with a token representing your payment method and records of your transactions (class purchased, amount, date). For subscription classes, Stripe stores your billing information to process recurring charges.
Content you submit
When you create posts, comments, chat messages, or class listings, that content is stored in our database (powered by Supabase) and associated with your account.
Livestream data
Live classes use LiveKit for real-time audio and video. Portfol.io does not record livestreams. LiveKit processes your audio and video in transit to deliver the live experience; see LiveKit’s privacy policy for details on their data handling.
Usage data
Our hosting provider (Vercel) and third-party services may automatically collect standard server logs, including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is used for security, debugging, and service improvement.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

Clerk uses cookies and local storage to maintain your login session. These are strictly necessary for the platform to function. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
We retain your account and content data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law (for example, financial records required for tax purposes).
Payment records are retained for the period required by applicable financial and tax regulations (typically 7 years).
Portfol.io is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we become aware that a user is under 13, we will promptly delete their account and associated data.
